Over three decades turning construction bottlenecks into integral, high-engineering solutions — machinery, architecture and furniture, with real backing across Central America.
The origin · 1991
ConstruMarket was born in 1991, modestly, in a house on calle Lorena in San Salvador, El Salvador. Its founder, engineer Roberto Simán, had built deep experience as a contractor — and with it, a long list of frustrations: supply shortages, technological lag and serious logistics bottlenecks.
Rather than settle, he chose to turn those market inefficiencies into an opportunity. He challenged the drive and leadership of his children to build a business model able to solve the sector's structural problems at the root.
Turning construction problems into solutions — that has been, from day one, the group's reason to exist.
The founding model
To withstand the isthmus' volatility, devaluations and cyclical crises, the group was born diversified: three divisions under one foundation of financial strength, where the strength of one backs the whole corporation.
Importing world-class brands to break the local technology gap — equipment of the exact size and capacity, at the lowest operating cost per hour.
Bringing to Central America the finishes already specified in Asia, Europe and the US — unlocking the creative potential of the region's architects.
Furnishing corporate and commercial spaces with ergonomic furniture, keeping critical inventory in-country to avoid last-minute import delays.
Today that model has evolved into six business units: heavy machinery, light machinery, after-sales, rental (Renta Centro), architectural coverings and furniture.

Our history
From a local machinery supplier to the regional corporation backing your projects in four countries.
In a house on calle Lorena, San Salvador, engineer Roberto Simán founds ConstruMarket. After suffering supply shortages and logistics bottlenecks as a builder, he turns those inefficiencies into a company built to solve them at the root.
To withstand the volatility of the isthmus' economies, the group is born diversified: machinery & equipment, architectural coverings and institutional furniture — three divisions under one foundation of financial strength.
After six years of growth, ConstruMarket crosses its first border into Guatemala to serve large-scale infrastructure projects.
Just a year later, the group opens offices and warehouses in Nicaragua, sustaining its regional growth momentum.
As the sector began valuing the use of the asset over its ownership, Renta Centro is born: the group's asset-light model, with 25+ years of operating-lease for heavy and light machinery.
The group expands south with the formal opening of ConstruMarket Panamá. Honduras is served directly and centrally from El Salvador.
Digital transformation accelerates: e-commerce, unified CRM and 100% regional coverage. In 2022 the first ConstruMarket Store retail prototype opens, bringing the brand closer to tradespeople and end customers.
The group takes its first step beyond Central America with the acquisition of Douglas Equipment Company in Miami, Florida (USA) — its US platform for casters, material handling and international sourcing.
Over 30 years and six business units — heavy and light machinery, after-sales, rental, architectural coverings and furniture — across El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Honduras, plus Douglas Equipment in Miami.
